European prospects by city, region and sector
How do I access the information?
Knowledge Base
Our regular economic forecasts are presented in our Knowledge Base website (see user guide) with analysis and forecasts updated each year (May/June). The Knowledge Base incorporates powerful search facilities that enable subscribers to target precisely the information that they need from our reports and databases. The Knowledge Base contains in-depth commentary to explain the forecast and highlight major themes of contemporary relevance.
The European Regional Service produces one forecast a year (May/June) published in European Regional Prospects (table of contents) on our Knowledge Base website. The forecast is presented in easy-to-read tabular and graphical form, with accompanying commentary to explain the forecast and highlight major themes. The service is supported by quarterly updates for subscribers.
Each area of the Knowledge Base is divided into three parts:
- The forecast overview with chapters on the macroeconomic context, a synthesis of the detailed forecast by region and special features.
- The city regions in detail, with text, charts and tables to analyse and interpret the prospects for the cities/sectors distinguished in the report.
- The main tables giving the full detail.
An abridged access to the European Regional part of the Knowledge Base
is also available.
Data
A key part of the service is the provision a validated database of economic indicators for cities and regions. The database draws on the available official data at European and national levels and has undergone a substantial process of updating and quality checks to improve its consistency, timeliness and coverage. Subscribers use the database to make comparisons across cities/regions, to analyse trends over time and to provide inputs to their own formal modelling.
The current database includes sectoral output and employment, unemployment,
household expenditure, investment expenditure, and demographic indicators
(total and active population).
Presentations
We provide an annual meeting on your premises (for clients in Europe)
tailored to your needs, to present the reports and to address issues
of particular interest to you. These meetings also provide opportunities
for the exchange of ideas and for suggestions as to how the service can
be developed further to meet your needs.
Support
We provide telephone and email support for discussion of any aspect of
the forecasts or reports. We are also available to offer support when
subscribers face unexpected requests, drawing on the full range of all
our economic forecasting services.
